The Telangana government is gearing up to construct a gigantic and yet enchanting memorial for Telangana martyrs studding the Hussain Sagar lakebed, which it aims to make the cynosure of the city.
The TRS government is doing this to celebrate the second Telangana Formation Day with a fitting tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for statehood.
This was stated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at his camp office during a high-level official review.
He entrusted the job of setting up the memorial and a commemorative park along with a meditation centre to Ganapathi Reddy, Engineer-in-Chief of the Roads & Buildings department.
The literary and meditation centre will come up to offer a soothing experience to the visitors.
The memorial will be constructed on the banks of the Hussain Sagar, in addition to a 125-feet-high Ambedkar statue behind the giant Buddha statue. There will also be a gigantic national flag in tri-colour towards Secunderabad.
KCR also decided to shift the Buddha Purnima, tourism, electricity and other government offices abutting the lake area.
A big event across the State should also be conducted to mark the statehood, KCR said.
The CM also asked the officials to prepare and preserve the life histories of Telangana ideologue Prof. Jayashankar and other prominent Telangana stalwarts.
The State's culture and history should reflect the unimpeachable veracity of the statehood movement, he said.
