Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday, stated that the party would extend cooperation to the government for passing a Thanksgiving motion on the Governor's address on Wednesday, as it had assured that it would allow a discussion on the liquor syndicate on Thursday.
Talking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office, Naidu said that the government had assured the TDP in the Business Advisory Committee meeting that it would allow discussions on the liquor syndicate on Thursday.
Following the assurance, Naidu said that the TDP was ready to extend cooperation to the government for passing a Thanksgiving Motion on the Governor's address.
Naidu came down heavily on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Speaker Nadendla Manohar for adjourning the House frequently without transacting any business.
Expressing concern over the House for not taking up a discussion on public issues, he said that the Speaker must take responsibility of the functioning of the House harmoniously to uphold its respect.
"The Speaker must issue proper directions to the government to run the House smoothly instead of adjourning it frequently," he said.
Responding to the issue of the introduction of the Telangana resolution, he said that the TDP has already made its stand clear, and that the ruling party must take a final decision on it.
Condemning the Congress for targeting the TDP on the Telangana issue, Naidu demanded that the Congress government resign if it fails to resolve the issue amicably. (INN)
