The Telangana High Court today suspended the notices issued by the Bhupalpally district court to former Chief Minister and BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, and former minister Harish Rao in connection with the alleged subsidence of the Medigadda barrage, part of the Kaleshwaram project.
The court scheduled the next hearing for January 7 and issued notices to the complainant.
The district court had earlier issued notices to KCR and Harish Rao regarding the damage to the barrage and corruption charges. The notices followed a petition filed by one Rajalingam. On July 10, the court directed KCR, Harish Rao (then Irrigation Minister) and irrigation officials from the BRS regime to appear before it on September 5.
KCR and Harish Rao subsequently approached the High Court, and urged the court to quash the notices issued by the district court.
