The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday passed interim orders directing the Telangana government to stop the process of relieving employees working in Telangana GENCO on the basis of nativity.
High Court judge Justice Reddy Kantha Rao posted to Friday a batch of writ petitions filed by scores of employees working with the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Ltd (TSSPDCL) challenging the decision of the TRS government to transfer them to AP.
The petitioners told the court that the Telangana authorities had prepared the guidelines in a unilateral manner by inserting nativity clauses arbitrarily, and were now seeking to send them to AP where no vacancies existed.
They expressed fear that the move would throw 620 employees out of employment. (NSS)
