HC Scraps TS Parliamentary Secretaries Posts

The Hyderabad High Court held that the appointments were against the norms and unconstitutional.
Hyderabad | 1st May 2015
Scrapping the GO Ms 173, the Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the Telangana government to immediately cancel the posts of Parliamentary Secretaries in the State.

Delivering its judgment on separate petitions filed by Congress MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy and Telugu Desam MLA A Revanth Reddy against the appointment of Parliamentary Secretaries by the government, the High Court held that the appointments were against the norms and unconstitutional.

Following the High Court's directives, six TRS MLAs will lose their posts of Parliamentary Secretaries with immediate effect. They are Srinivas Goud (Revenue), V Sathish Kumar (Education), G Kishore Kumar (Health), K Lakshmi (Agriculture), Jalagam Venkat Rao and Vinay Bhasker (CMO).

These Parliamentary Secretaries were conferred the status of Minister of State through a separate GO Ms No 270 issued on January 27 this year. (INN)
