Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress state president Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy, on Friday, launched a 24-hour helpline for the assistance of North Eastern citizens in the city.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan after launching the round-the-clock helpline, Vamshi Reddy stated that members of the community can contact 90009-99662 for any help in this regard. He said that Youth Congress members would immediately attend to the calls and provide assistance required by the callers who report threatening calls or emails.
Vamshi Reddy said that the youth wing would take up problems of the Assamese with the government, and would try to resolve them as soon as possible. A person called Naresh Kumar is in-charge of the helpline, he announced.
The APYC leaders have appealed to Indians from the North East not to believe rumours of attacks being planned on them. (INN)
