Heavy Rains Lash Most Parts Of Hyderabad

Heavy rains lashed many parts of Hyderabad today, leading to heavy traffic jams.

Rains accompanied by gusty winds lashed most parts of the capital on Monday afternoon, with particular fury in S R Nagar, Erragadda, Yousufguda, Jubilee Hills, Shaikpet, Ameerpet, Khairatabad, Panjagutta, the IT corridor, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Rayadurgam, Rajendra Nagar, Attapur, Kismatpur, Langar House, Gandipet, Shivarampally, L B Nagar, Mansoorabad, Nagole, B N Reddy Nagar and Vanasthalipuram in the city.

Trees were uprooted in many places due to strong winds, resulting in traffic chaos that continued for several hours. The traffic snarls were further aggravated by water logging on the roads.

Meanwhile, the GHMC Disaster Management teams swung into action and started relief operations. Police have advised motorists to be careful and not come on to the roads when it was raining.
