Revanth Reddy Orders Evacuation Of Low-Lying Areas

Hyderabad | 27th September 2025
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today reviewed the situation along the Musi river, which is in spate following incessant rains and the lifting of gates at the overflowing Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs in Hyderabad.

In view of the rising water levels in the Musi, the Chief Minister directed officials to take all necessary precautions in low-lying areas and evacuate residents to safer locations. He said that rehabilitation measures and relief camps would be arranged for the displaced families.

Reddy also personally monitored rescue efforts to evacuate passengers stranded at the flood-hit MGBS bus station late at night. He remained in constant contact with officials, instructing them to safely move passengers and divert incoming buses to alternative routes.

With the Dasara and Bathukamma festivities continuing, the Chief Minister asked TGSRTC officials to ensure that passengers reached their destinations safely.

With the IMD forecasting another day of heavy rainfall, he ordered the police, traffic, GHMC, disaster response and electricity departments to remain on high alert and coordinate rescue and relief operations.

He also instructed officials to install warning boards at waterlogging points and areas where the Musi has reached dangerous levels, and to implement traffic diversions with minimal inconvenience to commuters.
