The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has warned of heavy rains in the State for the next two days.
A yellow alert has been issued to the respective districts in this regard.
The met said that a low-pressure area had formed over the Jaisalmer and Udaipur areas, and that it was very likely to pass through the west Vidarbha, Ramagundam, Kalingapatnam and coastal Andhra areas over the Bay Of Bengal, while noting that the surface circulation between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above sea level would continue.
It said that the pressure was likely to extend up to coastal Andhra and Yanam, and that a low-pressure area was likely to form over the west-central and north-west Bay Of Bengal by Thursday.
The officials said that heavy to very heavy rainfall was likely to occur at isolated places in Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts of Telangana on Tuesday. Adilabad, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Jangaon, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts are likely to receive thunderstorms and lightning.
Heavy rains are likely to occur at isolated places in Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu districts on Wednesday. There are also indications of thunderstorms and lightning at many places.
