HC Raps Lakshminarayana For Media Leaks
The HC responds to a PIL which questions Lakshminarayana's mobile call data records, that expose that he had spoken to selected mediapersons several times.
The High Court, on Monday, reprimanded the joint director of Central Bureau Of Investigation, V V Lakshminarayana, for speaking to the media and leaking information against YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy, who is the prime accused in a disproportionate assets case against him.
Taking a serious note on the issue, High Court bench, headed by interim chief justice P C Ghosh and C Praveen Kumar, asked V V Lakshminarayana to submit his explanation by 9 July.
Responding to a public interest litigation petition filed by Bhavanam Bhushan from Guntur, who questioned Lakshminarayana's mobile call data records, that exposed that he had spoken to selected mediapersons several times in the recent past, the court asked the CBI to explain his need to speak to the media.
In his petition, Bhushan alleged that Lakshminarayana had deliberately leaked information to selected media organizations on the ongoing investigation against Jaganmohan Reddy. (INN)
