YSRC leaders had made public the list of phone calls made between CBI joint director Lakshminarayana and his classmate Chandrabala, following which Chandrabala lodged a police complaint.
Following a complaint lodged by Vasireddy Chandrabala, IBM employee and classmate of the CBI joint director V V Lakshminarayana, the Cyberabad Crime Station police, on Tuesday, registered cases against K Yadagiri Reddy (senior correspondent of Sakshi) and M Srinivasa Rao (inspector of Nacharam police station).
In her complaint, Vasireddy Chandrabala stated that the programs telecast on Sakshi were aimed at damaging her dignity and reputation by making public the confidential information of the call details of her mobile phone.
The police registered cases against Yadagiri Reddy and Srinivasa Rao under the provisions of the IT Act, Section 24 of the Indian Telegraph Act 1885, and Section 5 of the Officials Secret Act.
Meanwhile the Cyberabad police commissioner said that the case would be probed by the assistant commissioner of Cyber Crime.
It may be recalled that YSR Congress leaders had made public the list of phone calls made between CBI joint director Lakshminarayana and Chandrabala to the media, alleging a conspiracy to harm their leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who was arrested in connection with the disproportionate assets case.
