Minister for Finance T Harish Rao will present the Telangana Budget in the Assembly on February 6.
Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy will present the budget in the Council on the same day.
The Assembly will not be in session on February 7, and so the discussions on the budget and other bills will start on February 8.
The decision in this regard was taken in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting held after the Governor's speech.
The BAC will meet again on February 8 and take a decision on the schedule of the Assembly sessions.
According to sources, during the BAC meeting, Congress MLA Batti Vikramarka requested the Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy to conduct the sessions for another 25 days, saying that there were many public issues to be discussed in the House. However, Minister for Legislative Affairs Vemula Prashanth Reddy gently refused Vikramarka's proposal, and said that the decision would be taken based on the issues to be discussed and the bills to be cleared.
Meanwhile, officials said that a cabinet meeting would be chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan at 10:30 am on Sunday. The cabinet will approve the budget and take other key decisions including some involving the bills to be introduced during the session.
This will be the last budget for the current BRS government ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections later this year.
