Harish Rao Demands Apology From Deccan Chronicle

Hyderabad | 1st April 2019
TRS leader, MLA and former minister T Harish Rao today condemned a news item in English daily Deccan Chronicle that he was set to join the BJP despite the article ending with it being an April 1 (Fools' Day) gag.

He expressed serious displeasure at the news item that went viral in the social media despite the clarification at its end.

In a tweet, Rao sought an apology from the newspaper and demanded it being printed in the newspaper's Tuesday edition in the same (front) page.

"The news carried out by a reputed media outlet is a classic example of #FakeNews. It's insensitive to spread disinformation, even as a prank, specially at a time when the whole country has been fighting against fake news. My sincere appeal to the media outlets to not resort to such pranks. I demand the outlet which carried the #Fakenews item to carry an apology tomorrow on the same page," Rao tweeted.

Do you feel DC went too far or it should've been taken much more easily by Rao? Let us know in the comments below.
