The TRS and the opposition parties have all intensified their campaigning in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency for the by-election to be held on October 30.
With the last date of the campaigning inching closer - campaigning is disallowed after October 27 - the ruling TRS, the BJP and the Congress have enhanced their roadshows and BTL activities.
The TRS is especially more aggressive given that its proposed public meeting has been disallowed by the EC due to Covid concerns.
Chief campaigner finance minister T Harish Rao has been lambasting the opposition parties for "stalling the Dalit Bandhu and spewing venom on the government and its welfare schemes". He alleged that Rajender had not developed the segment when he was MLA and even minister, and had then joined the BJP to protect his assets, and urged the voters to support KCR for continuation of welfare schemes.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy of the BJP accused the TRS leadership of buying leaders of other parties like sheep. He also claimed that the TRS was distributing money to the voters (a charge made by the TRS too against the BJP), and predicted that the BJP would nevertheless win the by-election as the people trusted only Etela Rajender and the BJP for development.
Rajender accused the TRS of launching the Dalit Bandhu only after he was thrown out, and only to win the by-election. He charged the KCR government with cheating the people in the name of schemes, and said that Huzurabad's people knew that, and would vote for him despite all the money being spent by the TRS.
TPCC chief Revanth Reddy and the Congress candidate Balmuri Venkat too accused the TRS and the CM of trying to lure the people with money and Dalit Bandhu, and urged the people to vote for the Congress for continuous development.
