Finance Minister T Harish Rao today attended several developmental programs in his constituency, Siddipet.
While there, the minister inaugurated more free 2BHK houses in the district, and promised to provide the poor with even more houses with good infrastructural facilities.
He also promised the people that the proposed ORR construction work near Siddipet town would commence soon.
"Our government's aim is to ensure that the poor live with self-respect. It is committed to inclusive and holistic development," Rao said.
Addressing the rural population of the district, he told them that the government was committed to providing welfare to them as well.
"We want to ensure that the rural people of the state also live well. That is why we are developing the roads, railway lines, power supply, drinking water systems and drainage facilities across the rural areas. We will ensure that local leaders and civic body officials work together to develop the villages," Rao said.
He however added that the government's efforts alone would not guarantee development, and that the villagers needed to take steps themselves too to ensure that their villages remained clean and green.
