Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao today expressed happiness that the double-bedroom housing scheme of the state government was coming to fruition in Siddipet district.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that he was very happy as the poor women in the district and the state were getting a chance to lead their lives with dignity, and praised the CM for his efforts to provide free housing to the poor.
"Though there were some delays in completing the 2BHK units, the TRS government's efforts have slowly started making free housing a reality in the district and in the state as well. The scheme is a great way of giving the poor women of Telangana the chance to lead their lives with self-respect. Seeing the women beneficiaries of the housing scheme shed tears of joy makes my heart swell," he added.
The minister also said that the government had spent Rs 1,000 crore so far in developing the district, and had improved education and health infrastructure in the area through its interventions.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao inaugurated the much-hyped two-bedroom housing facility for the poor in Siddipet town.
