Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today met Mudhole MLA G Vittal Reddy, who brought up several developmental issues concerning his constituency and urged the CM to address them.
Responding favourably to the MLA's request, the CM instructed the officials concerned to complete the pending developmental works in the constituency at the earliest.
He asked the officials to expedite the completion of the Pipri lift irrigation project, which was sanctioned last year to solve the irrigation problems being faced by the farmers of Nirmal district. The project is expected to supply water for irrigation to 6,000 acres of farmlands upon completion.
KCR also issued instructions to the officials to complete the remaining CC canal works under the Gaddenna Vagu Project, to renovate the dilapidated Arli bridge, and to take steps for the rehabilitation of the residents of Gundegaon village since it would soon be submerged due to a developmental project.
Forest and Environment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, Principal Secretary for Irrigation & Command Area Development Rajat Kumar, and Special Secretary Smita Sabharwal also participated in the meeting.
The state government has been focusing on the completion of several water projects across Telangana in order to help secure the livelihoods of the agrarian community in the state. Just yesterday, the CM took
a host of critical measures to revamp the state's water resources department to better equip it to solve the water supply and irrigation plaguing the state.
