Union Minister K Chiranjeevi assured that he would strive hard to serve the people of the country through the new assignment given to him by the Congress High Command leaders.
Talking to reporters at the AP Bhavan after taking his oath as the union minister at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Sunday, Chiranjeevi said that he would work hard to justify his inclusion into the Central cabinet. Referring to some reports stating that his inclusion in the Union Cabinet was late, in a lighter vein, he said that he believes that it was not "late" but "latest". Therefore, he said he would try to leave a mark with the new responsibility that he has gotten as a union minister.
When asked about the on-going padayatras in the state by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress party leader Sharmila, Chiranjeevi said that there was nothing wrong in conducting padayatras to understand the problems being faced by the people. Regarding the Telangana issue, he said that the Centre was making sincere efforts to resolve the issue. Stating that the constitution of Srikrishna Committee was one of the several steps taken by the Centre, he said that he would abide by the decision to be taken by the Congress High Command over the Telangana issue.
