The state government will soon establish a Natyaramam Centre Of Excellence for performing Arts.
Instructions in this regard have been issued by chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday.
According to a release from the chief minister's office (CMO), the state government has decided "to preserve, enrich and promote native art traditions while helping them evolve and adapt to the modern times", and issued orders for the setting up of an institution called Natyaramam Centre Of Excellence For Performing Arts.
The Natyaramam Performing Arts Society will have 7 wings - Kuchipudi; Andhranatyam and temple dances; Bharatanatyam; Yakshaganam; folk dances; dance and literature; and music.
Natyaramam will be a university that will confer its own diplomas, graduate degrees and post-graduate degrees on students.
Suitable land would be allotted to this institute near Taramati-Baradari, said the press release. (INN)
