The free zone issue cropped up once again with recruitments in police department in the state due to lack of commitment from the government, stated senior Telangana Congress leader and former minister Jeevan Reddy.
Talking to media persons at the media point on CLP premises, the Telangana leader stated that though the government had sent a proposal to the centre to amend the Presidential Order by deleting Clause 14 (F) last year to prevent injustice to Telangana people in the recruitments, the failure to take an initiative regarding the matter had fuelled the issue.
Jeevan Reddy stated that both the state government and political parties should be equally held responsible for the crisis regarding the recruitments in police department.
The former minister also suspected the hands of Seemandhra leaders behind the delay of the central government in amending the Presidential Orders.
"If the government and political parties have any sense of commitment, they should immediately mount pressure on the centre to amend the Presidential Orders," Reddy said.
The government should take notice and solve the free zone issue by placing Hyderabad in VIth Zone, and take up the recruitments drive freshly by issuing a notification, the former minister stated.
Reddy said that the government should stop playing with the lives of Telangana students.
