GHMC To Have 200 Corporators

The GHMC had a population of 67,31,790 as per the 2011 census, so the increase will result in approximately one corporator per 34,000 persons.

The Telangana government on Saturday issued a notification increasing the number of elected ward members of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to 200.

As per the notification issued by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department Principal Secretary M G Gopal, the GHMC had a population of 67,31,790 as per the 2011 census.

Based on that, the number of elected ward members has been increased to 200 (approximately one corporator per 34,000 persons). (INN)
