The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has made special arrangements for the lifting of garbage and sanitation related works for the ensuing festival of Bakrid to be celebrated on Saturday.
GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain on Thursday held a meeting with the Additional Commissioner L Vandan Kumar to review the arrangements. He directed the Additional Commissioner to fix up the responsibility to AMOHs and the concerned Sanitary Supervisor to personally monitor the process of lifting garbage right from the afternoon of the Bakrid day one and to clear the waste on the day itself, duly taking photographs of the clearing of the garbage bins to record the on the OSRT System. He assured that he would personally monitor the lifting of the wastage through the OSRT system along with the health officials for proper maintenance of the works.
The GHMC Mayor also instructed the Health and Sanitation Officials to deploy the additional vehicles as was done last year. This year, the corporation has decided to deploy 215 vehicles including 10 Bobcat, 16 JCBs to lift the garbage on Bakrid. (INN)
The Manner in which the bakrid sale is organized is bizzard, there is no control on the sale of goats during bakrid since many years and we are in 21st century and still we follow the same old method of selling the goats on streets and disturbing traffic and creating nuisance at the residential houses, where we cant celebrate Dussera because of all mess around, we cant even take our vehicle, if we do so the place we keep our vehicle will be occupied with goat sellers, We are heavy tax payers and this is the service we get from GHMC, they have to take care on the same in a ground and mandi's to avoid this inconvinience of 7 days a year to the citizens of HYD, Govt has to take steps because if the residents restrict this they will be involved in street fights, so as a well being the residents have to shut the doors and keep themselve inside their homes
