TDP national president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today exuded confidence that the TDP-BJP alliance would win a huge mandate in the GHMC elections.
Speaking to the media at NTR Bhavan, Naidu said that victory for the TDP-BJP combine in GHMC elections was indispensable as the alliance alone was capable of ensuring all-round development of the GHMC areas.
The people of Hyderabad had confidence in the Telugu Desam Party as Hyderabad was developed during the previous TDP regime, which had also kick-started and nurtured the growth of the IT sector in the city which gave well-paying employment to lakhs of people, he claimed.
The TDP supremo asserted that the credit for placing Hyderabad on the global investment map went only to his Party, which was able to do it with the help of the then Vajpayee government at the Centre of which it was a constituent. The biggest IT firms in the world moved to Hyberabad after Microsoft opened its office in the city during the TDP rule, Naidu pointed out.
"I had visited various countries and sought investments in Hyderabad," Naidu asserted.
Hyderabad's look also changed after the TDP government constructed 18 flyovers and widened the roads to create better infrastructure, he added. "Our government also constructed and developed a greenfield airport in 5,000 acres at Shamshabad. The credit for the development of the Buddha Purnima project and the Lumbini Park also goes to the TDP government alone," he claimed.
Hyderabad thus both economically strengthened and became a tourist centre due to the TDP rule, and Telangana was getting most of its revenue today from Hyderabad, Naidu claimed.
The AP Chief Minister said that he always worked for the interests of the Telugu people. He was ready to go and fight for justice for the Telugu people wherever needed if they ever faced problems, he asseverated.
Though some of its leaders had changed their loyalties, his Party still had a strong cadre in Hyderabad, Naidu asserted.
Telangana TDP leaders L Ramana, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and others were present.
