Launching his campaign for the GHMC elections, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today claimed that the TDP regime had developed Hyderabad, and said that the people should vote for his Party and its ally the BJP for rapid growth.
Addressing public meeting in Kukatpally and Patancheru, Naidu claimed that the TDP government had constructed Hitec City, initiated the Outer Ring Road and the international airport, widened the roads of the city, brought the Krishna waters to it, launched the Metro Rail project, and brought in many IT companies and offered 14 lakhs IT jobs to the city youth and the children of farmers.
Shilparamam, Shilpakalavedika and the Uppal cricket stadium were also some of the main attractions of the city that were initiated during the TDP rule, he said.
He sought to know whether the previous governments for decades had developed Hyderabad and AP.
Stating that he would be with the people always, Naidu promised the people the best amenities if voted to power, and said that he was not going away from Hyderabad, and that the TDP would remain in Telangana.
It was NTR who brought real freedom to Telangana by abolishing the Patel system in the State, he claimed. He said that during his Delhi trips he asks the Centre to help develop Telangana, and that as the CM of AP he would extend all possible help to Telangana. Though as political parties we oppose each other, as governments we cooperate, he said of the TRS-TDP relationship. "KCR came to the Amaravathi foundation, and I attended the Chandi Yagam," he said.
Naidu ticked off the TRS government for lacking a vision, and attributed the delay in the Metro Rail works to its inefficiency. The TDP had begun the Metro Rail project, and would have completed it at the earliest if in power, he said.
He also condemned the removal of 26 castes from the BC list.
He appealed to the people to vote for the TDP-BJP alliance candidates and enable their victory. He also called upon the people of both the States to live together in brotherhood in spite of the bifurcation, and assured that whenever people faced problems he was ready to come to their help.
