Telugu Desam Party supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said that his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekar Rao was speaking "utter lies", and lowering the dignity of his office and his age.
Reacting to KCR's "outbursts" at the former's public meeting at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds on Saturday, Naidu said that the Telangana Chief Minister's provocative utterances against him and his family members were proof of his (KCR's) intolerance towards the Opposition parties, and that it would boomerang on him.
"The other day KCR asked what work I have in Hyderabad. Yesterday, he fabricated a story alleging that my wife (Bhuvaneshwawri) promised to vote for his Party. KCR is talking like a maniac out of frustration as the TDP is very strong in Greater Hyderabad," Naidu said.
The AP Chief Minister held a teleconference with his GHMC Party leaders and workers, and instructed them to constitute the remaining 875 booth-level committees by Sunday evening and send the telephone numbers of the incharges of the committees to the Party headquarters.
Alleging that the ruling Party was resorting to misuse of official machinery, Naidu asked them to counter the TRS tactics courageously. He told them not to worry about any criminal cases.
Naidu asked his Party personnel to spare no efforts to clinch victory in the GHMC elections, and advised them to organise bicycle and motorbike rallies in every division. He also asked them to remain vigilant on the day of polling.
He also told them to wholeheartedly work with the ally BJP ignoring petty differences, if any, for achieving their goal.
