Senior Congress leader Shabbir Ali today ridiculed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for proclaiming that he would develop Hyderabad on par with Dallas in the US.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Shabbir Ali said that KCR was trying to mislead the people by making vague promises in view of the GHMC elections.
Referring to KCR's speech at Parade Grounds, he said that the former must clarify why he wanted to emulate Dallas.
He said that Hyderabad was better placed than Dallas, with an international airport, an Outer Ring Road, a vibrant IT sector and many other advantages.
"Earlier, he wanted to follow the Singapore model. Then he turned towards Istanbul, and now he is speaking about Dallas. This is nothing but cheating," he said.
Accusing KCR of also enacting dramas of "rivalry" with Chandrababu Naidu, Shabbir Ali said that the two CMs were sending greetings and gifts to each other on all occasions and maintaining cordial relations off the camera, but in view of the upcoming GHMC elections, they were attacking each other merely for electoral reasons.
As prrof, he asked why KCR was not pursuing the "Note-For-Vote" case against Naidu.
The Congress leader also faulted KCR for announcing that he would allot the Municipal Administration & Urban Development portfolio to his son K Taraka Rama Rao.
He also slammed MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for making personal remarks against him using offensive language.
The MIM should publish the list of poor candidates who were given free admission in 60% of the 150 medical seats, he demanded.
TPCC chief official spokesperson D Sravan Kumar also slammed KCR, saying if he could ask Naidu what work he had in Hyderabad, he could also ask the Seemandhra populace what work they had in Hyderabad, after the GHMC elections.
Kumar said that the TRS and TDP were similar to each other, and that KCR's mark on Telangana were the suicides of 2,000 farmers.
