The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday requested traders in its limits to renew their trade licenses before March 25th or face the prospect of paying an additional 50% as penalty.
The renewal of trade licenses is required under sections 521 and 622 of HMC Act, 1955, for the year 2010 – 2011. The licenses can be renewed at any of e-seva centers / citizen service centers in GHMC limits.
Those traders who have not taken trade license so far were requested to approach the nearest e-Seva centers / citizen service centers in GHMC circle offices and apply for trade licenses.
The GHMC said that as many as one hundred teams have been deployed to take action on the traders who have not renewed the trade licenses.
The GHMC warned that those traders who do not renew the trade licenses or are running their trades without obtaining trade licenses would be considered unlicensed trades.
The GHMC Commissioner reserves the right to get the premises closed, and the goods and articles used for running the said trades seized, as per the HMC Act, 1955.
