City Hotels Protest License Fee Hike
The AP Hotels Association has represented to the GHMC recently that the increase in the trade license fee is beyond the capacity of small & medium hotels.
The general body meeting of hoteliers in the twin cities Hyderabad-Secunderabad will be held soon for discussing the increase in the trade licence fee proposed to be imposed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
The AP Hotels Association has represented to the GHMC several times recently that the steep increase in the trade license fee cannot be paid as it is beyond the capacity of small and medium hotels and restaurants.
The association members said that the hospitality industry has suffered huge losses due to the economic slowdown and the recession, rise in the prices of raw materials, and uncertainty in the state capital's political situation due to the Telangana agitation.
Meetings were held, which saw in attendance the Commissioner, the Additional Commissioner and the Joint Commissioner of GHMC; AP Hotels Association president G V Krishnaiah, Joint Secretary M A Rawoof, Secretary B Jagdish Rao and Treasurer B Hari Rao, with other members of the association; and a group of hoteliers of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The GHMC had then agreed to the categorization/rationalization of trade licences with an affordable fee.
