Ganesh Immersion Ends Amidst Tight Security
Thousands of Ganesh idols were immersed into the Hussain Sagar, Saroonagar lake and 24 other lakes amidst tight security and strict surveillance.

The 11-day Ganesh festival that enlivened the twin cities witnessed a grand finale on Sunday night when thousands of idols were immersed into the Hussain Sagar, Saroonagar lake and 24 other lakes amidst tight security and strict surveillance.
Pujas were offered at every nook and corner of the city, and the various pandals reverberated with songs and drumbeats with children, youngsters including girls, women and elderly persons participated in the festivities.
Completely decorated for the occasion and with 20+ cranes in tow, Tank Bund and NTR Marg wore a resplendent look. 25,000 police personnel, includng 180 teams of Rapid Action Force personnel and an air surveillance team, monitored the festivities.
High-level technology was used by deploying CC cameras and a Command Control Centre to monitor every movement of the processions - 1,000 cameras were set up for the event.
According to information, Tank Bund saw the immersion of about 7,000 Ganesh idols in the 10 days till Sunday morning, and by 5pm Sunday evening, another 5,000 idols were immersed. The popular Balapur Ganesh reached Tank Bund on Sunday night for immersion in a huge procession.
Traffic curbs will be on till Monday morning as more Ganesh idols will reach the Hussain Sagar. The police have set up helplines at 040-27852482, 9490598985 and 9010203626.
