The popular Khairatabad Maha Ganapathi immersion was held in a grand manner in the Hussain Sagar today.
The immersion of the 70-foot Ganesh idol took place at crane no 4 located on NTR Marg at 1:30 PM after the final puja was performed.
The Ganesh idol entered into the lap of water amidst chants of "Jai Bolo Ganesh Maharaj Ki, Jai" by the devotees.
Earlier, the Khairatabad Ganesh Sobha Yatra started at around 6 AM after prayers. The idol reached Tank Bund via Telephone Bhavan, the Telugu Talli flyover and the Secretariat.
A large number of devotees gathered for the Maha Ganapathi immersion on NTR Marg and the Tank Bund, and the areas surrounding Tank Bund turned quite crowded. Huge cranes were used for the immersion.
