Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said that he was feeling happy to vote for NDA Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind.
Addressing a meeting held at the A Convention Centre in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Naidu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had informed him over the telephone about Kovind's selection as the NDA Presidential candidate. "I immediately extended my support to Kovind," he stated.
Naidu said that Kovind had joined the BJP some 26 years back, and had performed efficiently in many positions in the party in his long political career and had had no disputes with anyone on any issue. He had also strived for the uplift of the dalits and backward classes. Kovind had all the eligibilities to become the President of India, he opined. He said that all members of the TDP would cast their votes for Kovind, and exuded confidence that the victory of Kovind was sure.
He also said that Modi was extending all possible cooperation for the development of Andhra Pradesh, but that there was a need for the Centre to extend cooperation further as Andhra Pradesh was still recovering from the bifurcation problems.
On the occasion, Naidu felicitated Kovind, union minister Venkaiah Naidu, BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao and others.
