TDP president Chandrababu Naidu today came down heavily on the ruling YSR Congress Party leaders.
Speaking to media persons at the state party headquarters in Mangalagiri, he alleged that no political party had mocked elections in the history of the state like the YSRCP was, and that the YSRCP was in fact mocking democracy itself.
He made these remarks following reports of widespread irregularities allegedly committed by the YSRCP leaders in the elections for the Kuppam municipality and other local bodies of the state.
Claiming that the TDP had already that the ruling party leaders would commit irregularities in the local body elections and cast fake votes, Naidu wondered how the YSRCP could stoop to such levels, and said that a day would soon come when the people of the state would rebel against them.
He also claimed that the police system had been completely diluted in the state, and that even after TDP leaders had caught several fake voters in Kuppam a day before the elections, the police officials did not respond to their complaints, and actually arrested the TDP's own leaders.
He also alleged that the ruling party leaders were trafficking cannabis to places like Mumbai in the guise of transportation of vegetables.
Naidu vowed that the TDP would continue to fight for the protection of democracy in the state, and until it presented the YSRCP leaders as culprits in the "public" court.
Also targeting the State Election Commission, Naidu wondered if there was even an election commission in the state.
