Former Governor Supports Tamilisai Censure Of Government
Former Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao today supported Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's slamming of the KCR government over the coronavirus spread.
BJP leader and former Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao today came out in support of Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's slamming of the government of K Chandrashekar Rao for its handling of the coronavirus situation in the state.
Reacting on her comments on the "failure" of the state government to handle the Covid-19 pandemic, Rao said that Soundararajan had as a doctor given some sensible advice to the government.
Soundararajan had on Tuesday in an interview with a national news channel - India Today - hit out against the state government claiming that it had ignored her letters to increase testing for the coronavirus and suggesting improvements in the facilities in Hyderabad and all the other districts to contain its spread.
She accused the KCR government of failing to assess the extent of spread of the pandemic and conduct more Covid tests, and claimed that that had led to the steep rise in cases in Telangana.
Rao too opined that the virus could be checked only by extensive testing across the state.
"The coronavirus has spread significantly in the state, and the government cannot confine tests to just Gandhi Hospital," Rao said. "The cases are rising enormously with each passing day, and the government has to increase testing in all the districts by improving the facilities there."
