Former Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and TRS leader Kadiyam Srihari today hit out at former Health Minister Etala Rajender for joining the BJP.
Talking to the media, he lashed out at the expelled minister, who was recently removed from the state Cabinet, for his remarks against the TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Srihari accused the leader of indulging in a malicious campaign against the KCR regime, and asserted that though Rajender was free to join the BJP or any other party he wished to, he had no right to blame the government for his own "selfish political reasons".
He ridiculed Rajender for avoiding joining a left-leaning party and joining the BJP fold instead.
The former deputy CM then thundered, "If he had truly been unhappy for the past five years, why did Etala Rajender stay in the TRS for so long? He should have quit when he felt that there were differences between him and the party. He gained Rs 26 lakh under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. But now he is blaming the same party that gave him many opportunities for growth. Moreover, the language he has used against our CM is unacceptable. Besides, I wonder how he will face the people of our state after joining the BJP which has displayed anti-farmers and anti-poor tendencies."
Srihari reiterated that the way Rajender had spoken about the CM in the recent past was condemnable and claimed that his hurried switch to the BJP was a way to "protect his assets".
