Minister For Animal Husbandry K Pardhasaradhi on Wednesday stated that the government has made arrangements for distribution of grains and vegetables to the needy in the flood-affected areas in Krishna district.
Pardhasaradhi stated that as part of the relief arrangements, 20 relief camps have been set up for evacuation of people, and nurses have been told to help and render first aid.
The minister told media persons at the secretariat that an estimated 1.5 lakh acre has been destroyed due to the floods in the district. Besides, 50 goats and sheep were dead.
Pardhasaradhi stated that he had already toured Avanigadda in the district to obtain a firsthand account of the losses suffered by the farmers.
The minister also said that the government machinery has been put on alert and was already on the job, helping the victims.
