Two Drown After Car Plunges Into SRSP Canal

It is learnt that the two persons had started out for Athmakuru from Metpally on Monday night in their car.

Two persons drowned after the car that they were in crashed into the SRSP canal.

The incident took place on Monday night.

The police retrieved the car today and recovered the two bodies.

The victims were identified as Pudari Revanth and G Prasad.

A passerby had noticed the car falling into the canal from the bridge and alerted the local police.

The police reached the spot and stopped the release of water into the canal.

They also deployed expert swimmers to fish out the car.

The car was found by the swimmers on Wednesday morning, and removed from the canal with the help of a crane.

The two bodies were shifted to a hospital for autopsies.

It is learnt that the two persons had started out for Athmakuru from Metpally on Monday night in their car.

A case has been registered by the police, and investigation is on.
