A major fire erupted in Telugu film star Chiranjeevi's farmhouse at Kokapet on Friday morning.
A set of his ongoing film project Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was gutted in the fire.
However, nobody was injured in the fire mishap.
The employees of the farmhouse made Herculean efforts to save the property from fire, but mostly in vain. Local fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after some time.
It is said that property worth Rs 3 crore was reduced to ashes. The shooting of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was also cancelled due to the accident.
In a Facebook post, Chiranjeevi's son and film producer Ram Charan said, "Unfortunately, a fire broke out on our 'Sye Raa' set in Kokapet earlier this morning. Thankfully, everyone in the team was safe and no one was hurt. We are really looking forward for our last schedule to finish."
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a biographical film based on the life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who revolted against the atrocities of the East India Company 10 years before the Sepoy Mutiny in the 19th century.
