Union minister for civil aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that the recommendation of the 14th Finance Commission was responsible for the union government not taking a decision to accord special status to Andhra Pradesh.
The centre was not able to take a decision on special status to AP due to certain technical problems, the minister said.
Criticizing the opposition's allegations on the functioning of Modi government, Raju said, "We cannot complete everything just in a year."
It was only a beginning, he asserted.
The Modi government had given utmost importance to providing social security to the people in its first year of rule, he said, adding that it was a government of action and not just of talking.
The minister asserted that airports of international standards would be built in Andhra Pradesh. (NSS)
