Fee Reimbursement: Jagan To Fast

Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will embark on a week-long fast in the state capital to press on the reimbursement Of fee arrears
Hyderabad | 17th February 2011
Former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday said that he will invoke divine intervention by praying to the Almighty to give the state government enough sense so that it opens its eyes to the suffering of the students and releases their fee reimbursement arrears.

Addressing a massive convention in Proddatur in Kadapa district on Wednesday, the former MP said that he will launch a week-long hunger strike so that the government wakes up from its stupor and realizes the suffering of the students due to its apathy.

Accusing the government of playing games with the lives of the students, the former MP said that even the criticism by the Supreme Court was not enough for the government to respond.

He alleged that the government was neglecting the schemes envisaged and launched by former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, which were planned to benefit the poor and the downtrodden.

Stating that the delay was putting the very careers of the students on the line, Jaganmohan Reddy said, "Through education alone, one can eradicate poverty and corruption. Education enables students to reach their ultimate goals," he pointed out.

The former MP said that he will embark on the week-long hunger strike in the state Capital from February 18.
