The All India Cine Goers Association (yes, one exists) today took serious exception to the huge hike in the rates of the tickets of Pawan Kalyan-starrer Katamarayudu.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday, Association President G L Narasimha Rao, Telangana unit president Anand and others accused the film's producers of steeply hiking the ticket rates with an intention to join the Rs 100-crore club, and that that was depriving common cine goers of the financial capability to watch the movie.
They said that the producer had raised the prices of the Rs 10 ticket to Rs 50, Rs 50 ticket to Rs 200 and Rs 150 ticket to Rs 500 to be able to collect Rs 30 crores in just two or three days. They also alleged that in the name of benefit shows, each ticket was being sold at anything between Rs 2,000 and Rs 5,000.
They charged even Pawan Kalyan himself with blackmailing the government and looting the common public.
Stating that they had already filed a case in a court against this fleecing of the cinegoers, the association leaders said that they were getting ready to launch a serious battle on multiple fronts to fight the "atrocity" of the film producer.
