Facilities For Farmers Giving Land For Irrigation: Harish Ra
The Telangana Irrigation Minister today said that adequate compensation would be provided to the farmers giving up their lands for the Mallanna Sagar project.
Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said that adequate compensation would be provided to the farmers giving up their lands for the Mallanna Sagar project.
The minister was distributing cheques to the farmers who had given their lands to the project at a program at Siddipet along with MLC Ramalinga Reddy.
He called upon the farming community and other people not to fall prey to the "false propaganda" of the Opposition parties. The state government would provide all possible help to those who lose their lands for irrigation projects as per the RR scheme, as also houses, he said.
Rao said that Mallanna Sagar was like the heart for the prestigious Kaleswaram project, and that the government had acquired lands in seven out of the eight villages for the purpose.
The minister also said that 80% of the land for the project was acquired at Vemulaghat, and that Rs 7.10 crores was paid towards 250 acres acquired.
The projects were the lifeline for the people and the state, and the government would complete the works of the projects despite all the hurdles being created by the opposition parties, he vowed.
