Hyderabad | 10th October 2022
Ex-Marredpally CI Koratla Nageswara Rao, who had created a sensation in the capital city by kidnapping and sexually assaulting a housewife at gunpoint, has been dismissed from service.

Rao is currently cooling his heels in the Charlapally central prison.

According to reports, Rao owns a farmhouse on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Four years ago, when the Task Force police had summoned the rape survivor's husband, Rao had interrogated him. After the release of the survivor's husband on bail, the CI had kept him in his farmhouse as help. Ever since, the wife and husband were living at separate places.

One day, when Rao asked the woman to come to his farmhouse, the latter informed her husband, who immediately called Rao on the phone and threatened him to tell his wife about his activities. The CI immediately apologized and requested him to forget his mistake.

However, unable to digest the threat, Rao called the husband to the Task Force office at Secunderabad and threatened to foist a ganja smugging case on him for his disobedience. Rao even forcibly put some ganja packets in his hands and pockets, and got photographs and videos clicked, and let him go. Later, the survivor's husband left the job in the CI's farmhouse and shifted to Vanasthalipuram, and was living with his wife and children.

However, the vengeful CI kept a constant vigil over their movements. The the eventful day on July 6, when the husband was away, the CI placed a Whatsapp call to the survivor and informed her that he would be coming to her house. Shocked by the call, the woman informed her husband immediately.

Guessing that her husband would not return that night from his native village, Rao went to the woman's house, and beat her up and raped her till midnight by pointing his service revolver at her. Meanwhile, her husband returned home and beat up the inspector with a wooden log.

Rao however managed to whip out his revolver, and forcibly set off for his farmhouse with the couple in his car. However, one of the tyres of the car burst on the Ibrahimpatnam tank bund.

The fear-struck couple miraculously escaped from the spot and approached the higher police officials, and Rao landed in the Charlapally central jail.
