The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is reported to have given clear indications that it intends to nominate former MLAs who joined its ship from other parties as its official candidates for the by-elections.
TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday appointed four former Congress MLAs as the in-charges of constituencies that they had earlier represented. Jogu Ramana may be nominated for Adilabad assembly seat, Gampa Goverdhan for Kamareddy, Jupally Krishna Rao for Kollahpur and T Rajaiah for Station Ghanpur constituency.
TRS has also nominated Pocharam Srinivas Reddy for the Banswada assembly seat, which he earlier occupied as a TDP MLA. He was elected to the seat in the by-elections held in October this year.
These MLAs had recently resigned from TDP and Congress to join TRS, and their resignation from assembly membership has necessitated by-polls in these constituencies. (INN)
