Telangana Excise and Tourism minister V Srinivas Goud today criticised former minister Etala Rajender for the latter's jibes against the TRS government.
He told the media that after having being appointed to many top positions by the TRS leadership, Rajender was now deliberately trying to malign the government's image with his comments.
The minister faulted the former minister for levelling "false charges" against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and asked, "Was it wrong to give him B-forms to fight elections? Was it wrong to have given him important ministerial posts twice and to have made him leader of the opposition once? I wonder why Etala Rajender is making malicious comments about the CM even though KCR only helped him. KCR gave Rajender many important posts in the state since 2014. After first getting expelled due to charges of land encroachment, Rajender has now turned against the TRS and KCR. This is condemnable. He must not malign KCR or our government for personal political gains in the future."
"The CM has started myriad welfare schemes for the benefit of the people of Telangana. Our government spends about Rs 45,000 crore, unlike any other state, on welfare. KCR gets credit for schemes and policies that are pro-people. These include providing 24-hour power supply to the farming sector, the Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima programs, the many pension and marriage schemes, KCR kits, and financial aid for foreign studies. What is Rajender faulting KCR for? For being a CM who has brought in such schemes?" he fumed.
Goud claimed that that the people of Huzurabad would support the TRS for its commitment to ensuring the welfare of the people, and said that the party's candidate would surely win the by-election.
