The CBI special court, on Monday, granted conditional bail to an executive officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), L V Subrahmanyam, who is facing charges in the Emaar Township scam being investigated by the Central Bureau Of Investigation.
While granting bail on a surity of Rs. 25,000, the special court directed him to cooperate with the probing agency in its investigations.
Subrahmanyam has also been directed not leave the city without informing the CBI. The court posted the next hearing on the case to 9 July.
It may be mentioned here that the special court had issued
summons to both L V Subrahmanyam and suspended IAS officer B P Acharya, to appear before it in the Emaar scam before 18 June. The CBI had booked cases against them under the provisions of the IPC, and the state had also permitted the CBI to prosecute Acharya under the Prevention Of Corruption Act. However, the government denied the CBI permission to prosecute Subrahmanyam under the Prevention Of Corruption Act, after a perusal of records. (INN)
