Those aiming to write the Engineering And Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) from this year onwards will be directly sent their ranks and other exam details on their respective mobile numbers.
The latest technology initiative is meant to address the difficulties that students from rural areas face while accessing the website for results. Fro, now on, all candidates will be informed of the vital details regarding the exam through their mobile number or the number of their guardian, collected via the application forms.
According to EAMCET Chairman D N Reddy, the number of applicants to the engineering stream rose from 3,11,758 until last year to 3,24,359 this year, while the number of medical applicants dropped from 65,630 to 53,647.
Eamcet 2010 is scheduled to be held on May 30, and the hall tickets for the exam wil be issued from April 30. Results, expected to be announced on June 20, can be viewed at the website www.apeamcet.org as well.
