The authorities of Goddess Kanaka Durga temple on Indrakeeladri are gearing up for the Navaratri festival scheduled to begin on October 8th.
According to sources, the Devasthanam authorities have planned to put in place 5 queues for the passage of devotees and pilgrims.
There will be 2 free darshan queues for regular devotees, Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 special darshan queues, and a Rs. 250 queue for VIPs. The queues will begin from Vinayaka temple on the canal road, and continue up to the hill shrine.
The Devasthanam has made arrangements for transporting VIPs, aged people, physically-challenged persons and the press. On the ghat road, only vehicles of temple authorities will be permitted.
The Devasthanam has decided not to permit private vehicles and others due to shortage of space on the hill shrine, as lakhs of devotees are set to throng the temple to mark Dussehra celebrations.
Rs 1.50 crore has been allotted for the Dasara arrangements, and authorities have proposed to give 5 laddus to each devotee at the price of Rs. 5 each.
Commissioner of Police P S R Anjaneyulu stated that 2,500 police personnel have been deputed from different parts of the State for foolproof security arrangements.
