Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy today asserted that the Telangana government would not go soft on the accused in the high-profile drugs case.
"We are not going to leave anyone who is involved in the case," he declared in an interaction with mediapersons in Tirupati where he had arrived with his family members to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
He however also denied that investigating officials were harassing suspects in the case.
Reddy also rejected that charge that only small actors were being targeted and big ones were being let off.
"There is no even an iota of truth in remarks that big actors are not being questioned and only small actors, producers and directors are being probed," he said.
The minister also refuted the allegations that the state government had brought the drugs issue to the fore only to sidetrack the Miyapur land scam and push it under the carpet.
The land scam issue was not being ignored, and investigations were going on, he said.
Earlier, the minister received a police salute and was given a grand welcome by the temple officials. Arrangements have been made for his accommodation at Tirumala, and he will get a VIP darshan of Lord Balaji on Monday morning.
