P C Alexander Passes Away
Former diplomat, Governor and bureaucrat P C Alexander breathed his last at the Madras Medical Mission Hospital in Chennai at the age of 90, on Wednesday morning.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the death of former diplomat, Governor and bureaucrat P C Alexander.
Dr. Alexander passed away at the Madras Medical Mission Hospital in Chennai at the age of 90, on Wednesday morning.
His distinguished career included service to former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, as their Principal Secretary.
Dr. Alexander was also the former Governor of Maharashra, Tamil Nadu and Goa, former Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, and a member of the Rajya Sabha.
The Chief Minister described Alexander as one of the most distinguished and respected public servants of the post-Independence era.
Kiran Kumar Reddy added that Dr. Alexander was also an outstanding statesman, able administrator and eminent writer.
He said Dr. Alexander had the distinction of having held several high positions in public life both at the national and international levels, in a career spanning over half a century. The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. (INN)
