The Board Of Intermediate Education, on Wednesday, appealed to students to not take "hasty decisions like committing suicide" in reaction to their "failures" in examinations.
The BIE was reacting to reports of suicides of the three intermediate students since the announcement of the First Year results on April 21.
The BIE announced that it advises students to approach their college principals or lecturers who, it said, have been instructed by the Board to guide and counsel sensitive students to overcome their problem.
"In addition to this, the BIE has made arrangements for reverification and recounting (RV & RC) of answer scripts in a transparent manner," officials said.
Students can obtain photocopies of their valued answer scripts by paying Rs. 600 per subject / paper in any e-Seva centre or AP online centre.
The last date to apply for RV & RC is May 4.
"Applicants' papers will be re-verified by three subject experts, and justice will be done to the students in a judicious manner," the Board said.
The Board is also appealing to parents to treat their respective wards as friends, and to deal with their "egos" in a sober manner, counsel them and to give them moral courage.
The BIE has already announced the dates for the Advanced Supplementary examinations, which will be held from May 22 to 30. The last date for the payment of the examination fee is May 3.
"Please remember that God has given us life to perform our ordained duty in this world. Don't resort to unethical means of sudden demise by means of suicide. Failures are stepping stones of success. Always be positive," the Board's Secretary said in a statement. (INN)
